Abstract :
Background: Hypertension is a condition where the systolic blood pressure is more than 140 mmHg and the diastolic pressure is more than 90 mmHg based on two or more blood pressure measurements. Inappropriate handling can cause greater harm, so pharmacological and non-pharmacological management is needed. Dragon fruit consumption is an alternative herbal choice for consumption. It has been proven in research that consuming dragon fruit can lower blood pressure. Objective: This scientific paper aims to analyze the application of giving red dragon fruit juice to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients in providing nursing care. Methods: A descriptive case study with the application of dragon fruit consumption was carried out on 2 clients. Clients are given dragon fruit juice 2x (100 grams of dragon fruit and skin + 100 cc of drinking water)/day (morning and evening) for 3 days Results: After being given therapy there was a difference in blood pressure before and after being given red dragon fruit juice to the two respondents, namely a decrease in blood pressure, an average systolic pressure fell 10 mmHg and diastolic pressure fell 5 mmHg in the two clients in the case.
