Abstract :
Diabetes mellitus is a condition in which glucose levels in the blood increase. Diabetes mellitus requires pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy so that blood glucose levels remain stable. Blood glucose stability is influenced by diet, physical activity and taking medication. So in the management of DM patients must adopt a healthy lifestyle and comply with the treatment program. This study aims to identify the application of foot exercises to reducing blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus. This study uses qualitative research with a case study approach. There were 4 respondents with diabetes mellitus in the study with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of this study were 2 people (50.0%) in the late adult category and 2 elderly people (50.0%), the majority of women in the gender category were 4 people (100%), the duration of suffering from diabetes mellitus was the majority category short duration of 4 people (100%), the application of foot exercises for 5 days, namely the first respondent decreased 294 mg/dl to 177 mg/dl, the second respondent decreased 301 mg/dl to 229 mg/dl, the third respondent experienced a decrease of 348 mg/dl to 275 mg/dl and the fourth respondent decreased 222 mg/dl to 160 mg/dl. Patients can improve diet patterns, physical activity and adherence to taking medication which aims to keep blood glucose levels in the body stable.
