Abstract :
This study aims to describe the readability of Merdeka Curriculum textbooks in grade IV Indonesian language subjects at elementary schools. In this study, researchers used descriptive qualitative research methods with a qualitative approach. In this study, researchers only selected reading texts that had a total number of words ? 100 words contained in the Indonesian language textbooks of the Independent Curriculum for grade IV elementary schools. After selecting the reading texts to be used as research samples, the researcher found 19 reading texts which were then analyzed for their readability level using the fry graphics formula. Based on the calculation of the text readability level carried out from 19 selected reading texts, The results showed that there were 26% of reading texts suitable for grade IV, 47% of reading texts suitable for levels above grade IV, 11% of reading texts suitable for levels below grade IV, and there were 16% of reading texts that were declared invalid or not suitable for use at any grade level.
