Abstract :
In Indonesia, palm oil is one of the agricultural products that upholds the Indonesian economy, which is developing so rapidly. . Palm oil is one of the plants that produces crude palm oil (CPO). This plant is widely planted in plantations in Indonesia, one of which is at PT Inti Guna Nabati which is in Lubuk Sayak Village, Pelawan District, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province. In processing palm oil to become CPO, many processes are carried out in stages. In processing CPO there is a pressing process (screw press), which is the process of separating the oil from the fruit flesh. Apart from that, the press machine can also separate the oil from the fiber and nut. The aim of this research is to determine the level of oil losses in each sample. Knowing the causes and ways to overcome high oil losses in samples. The method used is the soxhlet extraction method. Based on the data obtained, the percentage of oil loss in the fiber resulting from pressing that occurs in screws I?V is 3.61%, 3.63%, 3.84%, 3.94% and 4.19%. With a maximum oil loss limit of 3.91%, it can be seen that the oil loss in screw press 5 is outside the oil losses standard, so it can be concluded that the percentage of oil losses at PT Inti Guna Nabati is not yet stable. Key words: oil losses, fiber, socket extraction
