Abstract :
DIFFERENCES IN LEARNING MOTIVATION AND CAREER ORIENTATION IN TERMS OF PARENTS' SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS IN URBAN AND RURAL HIGH SCHOOLS The difference in education services in urban and rural areas is very significant, the government pays more attention to the development of education in urban areas, while the development of education in rural areas is relatively low. This study used non-experimental quantitative methods, there is a sampling technique using proportional random sampling. Data collection techniques using this study in the form of psychological scales and questionnaires. This study used Likert scale measuring instruments. Based on the results of the normality test, seen from the results of the significance value of 00.30 0.05 shows a normal value. The homogeneity test results obtained a sig value of 0.49 p (0.05) it can be stated that the Sig value is 0.05 which means that the sample data obtained from the population is declared homogeneous. From the overall results of data analysis, the results of the two variables above between learning motivation and career orientation in urban and rural high school students were stated to have differences. The difference in the economic status of parents of urban and rural high school students gets very different results, there are two levels of income obtained, namely middle to upper status and very low status.
