Abstract :
Background: In their old age the elderly will experience changes both physically and psychologically, these physical changes in the elderly's body result in the daily activities of the elderly being disrupted. This process can lead to a mental or psychological decline that interferes with the social interaction of the elderly in their living environment. The effect of physical and psychological changes that occur in the elderly can affect the quality of life of the elderly. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity and social interaction with the quality of life of the elderly. Methods: This study used a quantitative research type, using an analytic survey method with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 80 respondents, using total sampling to obtain 41 respondents. The research analysis used the Kendall Tau test. Results: Univariate research results: Most of the elderly are female, 26 people (63.4%), 27 elderly people (65.9%), some elderly have moderate physical activity, 21 people (51.2%), moderate social interaction 23 people (56.1%), and moderate quality of life 33 people (80.5%). Bivariate results: There is a significant relationship between physical activity and quality of life p = 0.041 <0.05. The results of the statistical test show that the value of r is 0.302, meaning positive. There is a significant relationship between social interaction and quality of life p = 0.007 <0.05, the results of the statistical test show that the value of r is 0.408 which means positive. Suggestion: respondents can increase physical activity and social interaction which aims to have a good quality of life
