Abstract :
There is a shift in the image of the city of Palembang, which was originally a city of water, now becomes a mainland city like other cities in Indonesia, causing many problems ranging from the emergence of puddles of water to social problems such as rampant street beggars, street vendors who are difficult to discipline and chaotic traffic conditions. As a result, there is a need for space for recreation, but most people in the city of Palembang are of the opinion that there are not enough tourist attractions in the city of Palembang. The emergence of a new trend, namely making accommodation as a tourist destination by exploring existing facilities, is able to provide new ideas for creating artificial tourist attractions such as 4-star resort hotels that are able to provide an image of the city of Palembang as a city of water. The application of the kajang boat concept will be applied to the shape of the building through a metaphorical architectural approach, as well as to support the theme of memories of place by applying the names of 4 (four) rivers that are stockpiled and 5 (five) elements forming the image of the city as well as a neo-vernacular architectural approach.
