Abstract :
Overview of the Application of Standard Operating Procedures for Diabetes Mellitus Wound Care SKRIPSI PROGRAM STUDI ILMU KEPERAWATAN DAN NERS FAKULTAS ILMU KESEHATAN UNIVERSITAS KATOLIK MUSI CHARITAS Background : Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels due to insufficient insulin secretion or is influenced by insulin failure. One of the complications that can result from diabetes mellitus in the long term is that it can cause ulcers on the feet. Actions that can be taken to prevent diabetic foot ulcers from getting worse include treating diabetes mellitus wounds according to procedures. Objective : To find out an overview of the application of Standard Operating Procedures regarding diabetes mellitus wound care. Methods : This type of research is a type of quantitative research. Descriptive design with an observational approach. The respondents in this study were inpatient nurses in the medical room Paviliun Akasia and paviliun Cendana at Siti Fatimah Azzahra Hospital. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Result : Frequency distribution of gender characteristics, namely 23 (76.7%) female respondents. The frequency distribution of age characteristics is that respondents aged early adulthood amounted to 27 (90%) people. Frequency distribution of characteristics of education level, namely 15 (50%) respondents with a D3 Nursing education and 15 (50%) with a Nursing education. Frequency distribution of work period, namely respondents who had work period < 6 years amounted to 14 (46.7%) people. The frequency distribution of applying SOP for diabetes mellitus wound care was 28 (93.3%) people implementing SOP for wound care. Suggestion : It is recommended for nurses and hospital institutions to implement Standard Operating Procedures for treating diabetes mellitus wounds correctly and thoroughly Key Words : Diabetes Mellitus, Standard Operating Procedures, Wound Care
