ABSTRACT
The problem of this research was the low of thematic cognitive score and
students? interest of fourth graders at SD Negeri 42 Palembang. The aim of this
research was to identify the influence of using talking stick as the learning media
toward thematic cognitive score and to find out students? interest of fourth
graders at SD Negeri 42 Palembang. This research was experimental approach
with True Experimental Design specifically Posttest-Only Control Design.
Sampling techniques that was used in this research was random sampling
technique. The classes that were used in this research were IVB and IVC graders
with 25 students each class. Technique of collecting the data was by using the
result test, questionnaire of students? study interest, teacher?s interview sheet, and
documentation. The data were analyzed by using t-test.The result of data analyzed

so, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted which means there was
influence of using talking stick as the learning media toward thematic cognitive
score and students? interest of fourth graders at SD Negeri 42 Palembang.
