Abstract :
Background: Coronavirus disease 19 which is abbreviated as Covid-19 This virus attacks the human respiratory tract and will spread through droplets released through the nose or mouth when coughing or sneezing, a big problem attacking the body's resistance to overcome by consuming red ginger is influenced by knowledge and attitude.
Objective: This study aims to determine the difference in maternal knowledge before and after ginger plant education in an effort to increase body resistance during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Talang Betutu Village area.
Methods: This type of research is quantitative with a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were 68 respondents who were taken by purposive sampling. Collecting data using a questionnaire, the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test.
Results: The results of the study there were respondents about the use of red ginger before being given education, namely lack of knowledge as many as 37 (54.4%) respondents experienced an increase after being given education, namely good knowledge as many as 57 (83.8%) respondents, attitudes before being given education on the use of red ginger, namely enough attitude 67 (98.5%) respondents experienced an increase after being given education, namely 8 (11.8%) good attitudes and 30 (44.1%) poor attitudes. The results of the test using Wilcoxon were obtained for knowledge there was no difference and for attitudes there was a difference
Conclusion: after education the knowledge and attitudes of respondents increased. Knowledge before and after there is a difference because the p-value is 0.001 < 0.005 for attitudes before and after there is a difference because the value is 0.000 < 0.005.
Suggestion: Suggestions in this study provide more information about herbal treatment to increase endurance.
