Abstract :
Background: Examination of erythrocyte levels was carried out in three stages, namely pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical stages. Examination of Erythrocytes of Venous Blood and Capillary Blood Using K?EDTA Anticoagulant in Hematology Analyzer kx-21
Methods: This type of research is analytic observation. Examination using the sysmex KX-21 hematology analyzer with the impedance method. The research was conducted at the Palembang Health Laboratory Center. The subjects of this study were students of level 2 and 4 Fikes UKMC who were taken using the Total Sampling technique. Data were analyzed using paired T Test.
Results: Examination of the number of erythrocytes using venous blood obtained an average result of 4.5 cells/L and examination of the number of erythrocytes using capillary blood obtained an average result of 4.6 cells/L. The test results showed that there was no significant difference in the results of the number of erythrocytes using venous blood and capillary blood with p value = 0.915 (> 0.05).
Conclusion: It can be concluded that in this study there was no difference in the examination of the number of erythrocytes using venous and capillary blood.
Suggestion: Examination for further research is to compare the results of the number of erythrocytes using capillary blood, arterial blood, and venous blood.
Keywords: Erythrocytes, venous blood, capillary blood, anticoagulant K?EDTA.
