Abstract :
This study aims to examine the influence of work motivation and communication
on the performance of teaching staff at SMA Methodist 2 Palembang. The
population of this research is lecturer of SMA Methodist 2 Palembang. The
sample used is the teaching staff of 32 respondents. Sampling using a simple
random sample method. The purpose of this study to determine the influence of
motivation and communication on the performance of teaching staff SMA
Methodist 2 Palembang. Testing this hypothesis using Multiple Linear Regression
Analysis using the help of SPSS 16.0 program. The results of this test indicate that
there is a positive and significant influence between the motivation on the
performance of teaching staff, there is a positive and significant influence between
communication on the performance of teaching staff, motivation and
communication together affect the performance of teaching staff. The test results
stated that the contribution of motivation, communication and performance of
teaching staff was 25,6% and the rest 74,4% influenced by other variable not
included in this research. Test results show that the significant value is less than
0.05. Thus, the need for a change for SMA Methodist 2 Palembang, in providing
motivation work among the faculty that should be improved, so that employee
performance more professional. In addition communication should also be
considered, for the performance of high school students Methodist 2 Palembang
more effectiveness higher if the employer submit instructions to the teaching staff.
