Abstract :
Background: In the hematological examination, in the blood collection process sometimes there are incidents where the blood sample does not meet the standard in the vacutineer tube so that the blood sample being examined does not comply with the anticoagulant standard and ultimately causes the results of the hematological examination to be questioned. Objective: to determine whether there is a difference in the results of the examination of hemoglobin levels in the volume of 1mL and 3 mL blood samples with K3EDTA anticoagulant with a blood volume of 3 mL Methods: This study used a pre-experimental method with a one shoot case study approach which was conducted at the Public Health Center of Tujuh Ulu Palembang. The research subjects were 32 people. The sampling technique uses quota sampling. The data that has been obtained were analyzed by using the paired sample t test. Results: descriptively the difference between 1 mL and 3 mL of blood volume is 5% but statistically the probability value (sig 2-tailed) is 0.220 > 0.05 which means there is no significant difference Conclusion: there is no difference in hemoglobin levels in 1 mL and 3 mL blood volumes with K3EDTA anticoagulant with a probability value of 0.220 Suggestion: further research is expected to be able to examine the morphology of erythrocytes and use samples from patients.
