Abstract :
Background : Tuberculosis is a direct infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in sputum can be done using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique, the Genexpert molecular rapid test (TCM) method, Ziehl Neelsen examination. Objective : This study aims to determine differences in the results of sputum examination at the intersection for 24 hours at a temperature of 4.9°C with the Genexpert Molecular Rapid Test (TCM) method and the Ziehl Neelsen (ZN) method in patients with suspected pulmonary TB. Methods : This study is an analytic observation with a cross-sectional research design. The study population in this study were patients with suspected pulmonary TB at the TB clinic at the Bayung Lencir Health Center, Kab. Muba with a total of 36 samples. Data analysis using Chi-Square Test. Results : There is no difference in the results of the Quick Molecular Test (TCM) and the Ziehl Neelsen (ZN) method, the Mann Whitneyt Sig result is 1,000. The Mann Whitney Sig value of 1,000 is more than p - > 0,05 Conclusion : So that it can be concluded from this statistical test that Ho is accepted and H1 is rejected, this means that there is no difference in the results of the Ziehl Neelsen Molecular Rapid Test (TCM) and microscopic Ziehl Neelsen tests in patients suspected of having pulmonary tuberculosis with a 95% confidence level. Suggestion : Enforcement of the diagnosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis using the Genexpert Molecular Rapid Test (TCM) method is still confirmed by Ziehl Neelsen microscopic examination. Further research by not only distinguishing the two methods but also adding whether there is an effect on positive TB patients with close patient contacts, occupational factors, education and latent TB patients.
