Abstract :
Background: Problems that often occur are inspection delays due to the large number of inspections, equipment damage, power outages and samples that must be sent to other laboratories. According to Apriani (2018), in general, blood samples that have been taken are not directly examined, but are collected to be worked on together with other samples. So the first sample to come is checked at the same time as the last sample, so that the first sample to come is subject to a delay in inspection time. This is usually done to save time, energy and reagents. Objective: It is known that the serum urea level is immediately checked with a delay of 2.5 hours at a temperature of 20-25 Methods: The study used sample data in both groups of paired data less than 50 so that the Normality Test used was the Shapiro-Wilk test. The confidence level of this study is 95% and the risk of error is 5% (? = 0.05). The data is concluded to be normally distributed if the value of Sig. > 0.05. Results: The results of the examination of serum urea immediately checked had an average of 22.80 mg/dl and urea levels delayed 2.5 hours had an average of 21.61 mg/dl. Conclusion: There is a difference in the results of the examination of serum urea levels immediately checked and delayed 2.5 hours with a value of (Sig. 2 tailed) 0.001 < 0.05. Suggestion: Examination of urea levels for normal patients based on this study is advised to be examined immediately without delay. Keywords: Urea, Serum Delay, Examination Temperature.
