Abstract :
Self-acceptance is an individual's awareness and willingness to survive with his own strengths and weaknesses. For nuns who have just entered their retirement period, self-acceptance is a must-have so that they are able to adjust to the reality they are facing, so that they can grow a sense of comfort in going through their retirement period. Self-acceptance can come from within and from the outside environment. This study aims to look at the dynamics of nuns' self-acceptance during retirement. This study analyzes the dynamics of self-acceptance of nuns in their retirement using a phenomenological type qualitative method with a number of participants, three nuns of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. 65 years of age. Data collection was carried out using individual interview methods and observations regarding the theory of self-acceptance. The results showed that there was an influence from the profession or work of nuns prior to retirement on the process of self-acceptance. Based on the results of the analysis, several recommendations were obtained from the results of the research analysis which became a priority, namely guidance and direction in preparation for members before being given the decision to undergo retirement. Keywords: self-acceptance, nuns, retirement
