Abstract :
Maternal and perinatal death has become major problem, particularly in developing countries, mostly happen because labour has been done with non medical assistance that has no experience and along with inadequate service. Objective of this experiment is to found out the relationship between labour with medical assistance and non medical assistance related with Mother Deceased Number in Kecamatan Manyar Kabupaten Gresik for period August 2007 until July 2008. Data being used in this experiment is data from Puskesmas in Kecamatan Manyar Kabupaten Gresik for period August 2007 until July 2008. Besides that, there are also data of mother deceased number and the number or medical assistance and non medical assistance who help delivery has been analyze using independent t test. Result showed that sum of labour with medical assistance is 1580 labour, while labour with non medical assistance reaching 33 labours. Mother Deceased Number (Angka Kematian IbuÂAKI)helped by non medical assistance for the period August 2007 until July 2008 is 0 person out of 33 labour with AKI 0 per 100.000 living birth, wihile AKI helped by medical assistance for the same period is 1 person out of 1580 labour with AKI 62 per 100.000 living birth. Result from independent t test revealed that AKI for mother helped by medical assistance and non medical assistance in Kecamatan Manyar Kabupaten Gresik has not shown a significant different. We can conclude from the experiment that even help done by medical assistance tend to have risk in causing death for post partum mother.
