Abstract :
The motives to conduct this study are the researcher realizes that modernization has caused the displacement system of culture value, so that society should involve keeping culture in environment. If as active heir, we are not trying to defend our culture, then by degrees; it will be gone replaced by the ages. One of the ways is by conducting study of bersih desa. The formulations of study are text, context, and tradition meaning of bersih desa in Lumbangsari society, Bululawang, Malang in semiotic perspective. The purposes of this study are to describe text, context and tradition meaning of bersih desa in Lumbangsari, Bululawang, Malang in semiotic perspective. The method of study used here is descriptive qualitative. The data is events, behavior, and activities of bersih desa. The main data sources in qualitative study are words and attitudes. In this study, the researcher will use four ways to collect data, they are: (1) observation, (2) interview, (3) documentation, and (4) field notes. Data analysis by using interactive model consists of four parts: (1) data collection, (2) data display, (3) data reduction, and (4) conclusion (drawing orverifying). The result of study shows that in bersih desa tradision as text can be seen from icon, index and symbol. In bersih desa tradition as a context; it can be seen from social, economy, religious, culture and environment. All in the traditions is always have correlation to society life. Society still believes in prescription. The meaning of bersih desa tradition is still attributed to society, the still believe in religious advice in the tradition. Every obstacle or problems in the village will resolve by bersih desa, then they will get notion that it is better. Based on the explanation above, it is found semiotic concept, that local tradition in the form of bersih desa is culture text, whether it is in conviction system, economy, social and culture. The context is the acceptation of acculturative tradition in society by social-culture values as bersih desa context.
