Abstract :
The study aims at investigating the teacher difficulties in using picture series, the studentsÂ’s response by using picture series and how does the teacher implement picture series in teaching procedure text in classroom. The study employes the qualitative design and it is supported by quantitative data. It is conducted at one of the state elementary school in district of Malang. The subjects of the study are an English teacher and 32 students of an English Class. The data are collected through questionnaire, observation, and interview. The data are analyzed by using data display and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings indicate that the teacherÂ’s implement in using picture series is an interesting way. It is also found that the studentÂ’s responses after using the picture series are better, more interesting and more understand about the procedure text rather than before using the media. Another result shows that the drilling of the teacher in the way to use media and the patient of the teacher is the best way. The teacher always improves and repairs his creativity in prepare modern picture series. Have fun classroom activity and give them a modern picture series can make the students more interested in learning procedure text activity. However, the teacher still has a difficulty to motivate students to have a much vocabulary. It caused their level still on elementary and the teacher cannot prepare a dictionary for the student and school cannot give that as a facility in teaching learning process. Then, they just rely on ask to the teacher about the difficult words. The other teacherÂ’s difficulty is in encourages the students in order to make the students more interested in learning and writing English. The teacher always translates the difficult words to help the students to understand the explanation better. Therefore, this study suggests that the teacher should have his own ways or strategies to create a good and better media, it can be encouraged by interesting picture that has a full of color. So that, interesting creative media in teaching learning process can be implemented easier to understand than using the uncreative media.
