Abstract :
Background : Marigold extract (Tageteserecta L.)contains metabolite secondary component Flavonoid and Karotenoid which act as potential antioxidant. Antioxidant is needed to protect the skin to stay healthy. The use of gel peel off face masker supply is very practical because after the gel drying up, it can be cleaned by peeling it off without using water. Objectives : This research was conducted to determine the effect of Marigold extract within 3%, 4%, and 6% concentration in PVA and PEG 60 base to the physique, chemical characteristics (organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, dispersive power, time to dry), and stability test as peel off masker. Method: Peel off masker supplies made using Marigold extract 3% (FI), 4% (FII), and 6% (FIII). Evaluation was done on gel peel off masker’s physique characteristics (organoleptic, homogeneity, viscosity, dispersive power, and dry time), chemical (pH) and supply stability. Result and Conclusion: From the research result, it was showed that the use of Marigold extract in 3%, 4%, and 6% concentration on physique characteristics test, which is organoleptic, produce brown yellowish, unique smell, and soft textured gel. In homogeneity test, there was no significant difference, all of the supplies were homogeny. In viscosity test, the CPs were FI (18.466), FII (22.533), and FIII (28.133), dispersive power test (g/cm) resulted in FI (0.012667), FII (0.0108), and FIII (0.0114), dry time test (minute) resulted in FI (29.1), FII (26.29), and FIII (24.64), and pH test resulted in FI (5.5), FII (4.71), and FIII (4.59) which conclude that there is a significant difference in Marigold extract peel off masker supply. From the result of stability test and freeze thaw, it was showed that all of the supplies were stay stable and there were no significant changes in organoleptic, but supplies pH were changed a little but it was within safe range and not dangerous to the skin.
