Abstract :
Background: Acne is a diseases that can reduce the confidence of sufferers which is caused by bacteria Propionibacterium acnes. Sumbawa horse milk has good antimicrobial activity due to the galactoferrin compounds.
Objective: This research is conducted to investigate the effect of horse milk in the level 2,5%, 5%, and 10% with carbomer base 1% in the gel preparation towards the physical characteristic (pH, viscosity and dispersive power), and also the activity of antibacterial Propionibacterium acnes.
Methodology: The method applied in this research was the experimental to compare 3 formulas with different horse milk concentration. Then researcher analyzes the physical and chemical characteristics antibacterial actifity.
Results and Conclusions: Based on the evaluation test, the result showed that all formulations had same organoleptic result, such as: soft texture, typical smell of horse milk, and milky white color. In addition, evaluation testwere showing a result thatviscosity and pH had no significant difference in the formulation. Besides, the dispersive power test was resulting a significant difference. Lastly,in the antibacterial test, the result showed that there was no inhibition zone resulting in the formulation test.
