Abstract :
Leadership is the ability of individuals to influence, direct and motivate themselves. Sympathetic leaders are leaders who can be effective in trying to complete their tasks properly. Effective self leadership can be successful, having good skills and knowledge has the effect of changing in itself by involving personal growth initiatives. Having the ability of personal growth initiatives to encourage the increase of self leadership, because it makes individuals to develop and can set desired goals so that it can indirectly increase individual growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between individual growth initiatives and leadership in students who followed the organization. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross sectional research design. The subjects of this study were students who participated in the organization. Data was taken using snowball with active students studying. Data was taken using the Revised Self Leadership Questionnaire and Personal Growth Initiative scales. This analysis uses the product moment correlation method. The results of the data analysis obtained r = 0.24 and p = 0.00 (p <0.05). This shows there is a significant positive relationship between personal growth initiatives and self leadership in student organizations.
