Abstract :
Social skills are one of the important skills developed in childhood because they play a role in helping children to interact socially with their environment and so that children can adapt well to their surroundings. To improve children's social skills, they can use learning media in the form of traditional games "keng-keng" and bakiak. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of traditional games of "keng-keng" and bakiak on social skills in elementary school-age children. The number of research subjects was 24 elementary school students selected by purposive sampling technique. This study using a quasi-experimental design with a nonrandomized pretest-posttest control group design model. The instrument used in this study is the scale of social skills that are prepared by the researchers themselves, which have been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed an increased in social skills (p = 0.008, p> 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that there are influences on traditional games of "keng-keng" and bakiak on social skills of elementary school-age children.
