Abstract :
Pine (Pinus merkusii Jungh et de Vries) is a type of pine that grows native in Indonesia. The increasing demand for resin to meet industrial needs, the need for gondorukem and turpentine increased. The problem faced is that the resin that comes out does not meet Perhutani's target, so it requires stimulants that are safe in the long run and can make the resin continue to come out without damaging the pine tree. The research is located at BKPH Kepanjen KPH Malang RPH Gendogo (plot 173A). The study was conducted in February to April 2019. Increased resin production by administering sulfuric acid solution. The greater the diameter of the pine trunk the more resin that comes out. The study aims to determine the effect of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and stem diameter on the productivity of pine resin (P. merkusii Jungh et de Vries). The research method was conducted with RAK (Randomized Group Design) consisting of 2 factors. Factor 1, the concentration of sulfuric acid solution used were: 0%, 15%, 25%, and 35%. Factor 2, the diameter of the stems used are: 20-25 cm, 26-30 cm, 31-35 cm, each repeated 3 times so that there are 36 experimental units, each experimental unit there are 5 pine trees. The parameters studied were the amount of pine tree resin and the quality of pine tree resin produced. Significantly affected by the treatment, the DMRT test was carried out. The results showed an interaction between administration of concentrations of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and stem diameter to the results of the resin at the 1st collection of quality A resin and collection of 3,4,5 quality of the B resin. The concentration of 35% accelerated the discharge of pine resin. Stem diameter 31-35 cm in size produces the most quality A and B resin.
