Abstract :
This research is based on the limitation of forage experienced by the farmers and dairy farmers in dry season in Medowo village, Kandangan sub-district, Kediri. Alternatively, the farmers took other forages which grow in all seasons and contain lots of nutrients, namely odot grass (Pennisetum purpureum c. mott). Odot grass cultivation is necessarily analyzed to find out its worthiness and profit. Aiming to analyze the production cost, receipt, income, and R/C Ratio of odot grass farming, this study used simple random sampling as the sampling technique with 50 selected farmers. The data analysis technique was farming calculation and production cost with quantitative descriptive as the data analysis method. This study showed that a total fixed cost reached Rp. 6.039.302/ha, total average of variable cost Rp. 11.055.632,8/ha, total average of production cost Rp. 17.095.270,1/ha, total average of receipt Rp. 31.479.403,81/ha, and total average of income Rp. -2.720.370/ha. In addition, the result of efficiency (R/C Ratio) by 1.8 or > 1 means that odot grass farming in Medowo village, Kandangan sub-district, Kediri could be mentioned as business worthy.
