Abstract :
Having children with special needs is a big problem for parents both physically and mentally, the burden creates an emotional reaction to the parents. Just like other normal children, children with autism need affection, attention and warmth, to be able to give it all, the parents are expected to believe in themselves, always be optimistic, and always think positively in caring for children with autism disorders The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between a mother self-concept with acceptance of parents who has an autism child. This study uses snowball data collection techniques with a total of 97 parents (mothers). This research instrument uses a scale of parental acceptance and six-factor Self-Concept scale to measure self-concept in parent. The result of product moment correlation analysis obtained the correlation coefficient (r) is 0,452 and a significance value is 0,000 < 0,05, means there is a significant positive relationship between self-concept and parent acceptance.
