Abstract :
Perfectionism has long been associated with lack of well-being. Self-determination theory suggests that one's welfare is low when its needs are not met. The research aims to determine the relationship between perfectionism and subjective well-being. This research is a correlational quantitative study. The subject of this study amounted to 150 students in the Forum of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang taken with a total sampling technique. Measurement of perfekisonism using the Multidimesional Perfectionism Scale measuring instrument and subjective well-being measurements using the Satisfaction with life scale and Scale of positive and negative experience measuring instruments. Analysis of data conducted with the correlation technique of Product moment in interpersonal indicates the presence of positive and insignificant correlation (r = 0,070; p = 0,468) and in the Intrapersonal indicate the presence of positive and significant correlation (r = 0,337; p = 0.034). Then based on a perdimensioning test in whole obtained (r = 0,155; p = 0,058) between dimensions of self-oriented perfectionism and subjective well-being. There is a negative correlation and not significant (r = -0.036; p = 0.659) between the dimensions of oriented perfectionism with subjective well-being. There is a positive correlation and not significant (r = 0.068; p = 0.410) between the dimension of socially prescribed perfectionism with subjective well-being.
