Abstract :
Red bricks are the most commonly used type of bricks. Although it has been used a long time ago, the use of bricks has not been reduced until now. Making red bricks using a press makes the appearance of bricks more beautiful, neat and even, until now the red bricks are often used as decoration to other needs. This final project aims to design a brick molding tool with the latest design that is able to produce bricks with a good level of precision and also economical. In making interlock bricks there are several stages so that bricks get maximum results, such as material refinement, mixing, and pressing. The steps in designing this printer are determining the hopper concept, determining the pressure specifications, calculating hydraulic components, calculating fluid flow, determining hydraulic piping, pump selection, and calculating capacity. From the design results obtained a maximum hydraulic pressure of 1,346 kg / mm², the capacity of the hydraulic press machine for interlock bricks is 650 kg / hour so that 130 bricks are obtained in one hour. With a pump operating pressure of 1.4806 kg / mm² and a pump power of 1.23 HP or equal to 917 watts. The ideal upper and lower mold distance based on the piston upward movement time is 200 mm.
