Abstract :
The purpose of this study aims to determine the results of Al-Si and Zn testing with variations of 0%, 5%, and 10% Zn. By using a used piston material with a casting method with a casting temperature above 6000C and to determine the physical and microstructure properties of a mixture of Aluminum silicon and Zn by using the SEM-EDX method. It can be seen that the most explosive mixture is 5% can be seen using SEM machines with an enlargement of 2000 times, while for a mixture of Zn 0% and 10% get micro results with SEM machines irregular casting results and Zn clumping occurs in several parts.
