Abstract :
This study was classroom action research. It was conducted at SMAN 1
Pekalongan In Academic year 2018/2019. The subject of the research is eleventh
grade. The objective of the study was to know how Fishbone Method to Improve
Students' Writing Skill at Eleventh Grade of SMAN 1 Pekalongan in Academic
Year 2018/2019. The research was conducted in two cycles. The criterion of
success of the research is if students have big interest and motivation in learning
writing based on fishbone method and got minimum standard of 75 as KKM. In
collecting the data, the researcher used interview, observation, and test. In
analyzing the data, the researcher apply statistics descriptive.
The result of the test showed that the average students score in the precycle
test
was
66.62%,
it
meant
poor
categories.
In
the
first
cycle,
the
students
test
got
70.20%.
Based
on
the
result
of
first
cycle,
it
showed
fair.
In
the
second
cycle
students
test
got
76.97%.
The
result
of
second
cycle
it
showed
good.
In
addition
for
students' respons in cycle 1 got 70%, and in the second cycle the students'
respons got 95%.
Based on the findings, it can be concluded that fishbone method is good
method to improving students writing skill. Therefore, it is recommended method
that can be used as an alternative method in teaching writing.
