Abstract :
Conjunction is one of parts of speech. It also connects words, phrases or
clauses. This research analyzes conjunction found in abstract Premise Journal
Volume 9 Number 2 in 2020. The aims of this research are to find out what types
of conjunction and to find out which the most dominant type of Conjunction.
Conjunction is the object of this research. There are 9 articles in Premise Journal
Volume 9 No.2 that become the subject of this research. However, the
researcher explains the data by using descriptive qualitative method and using
tabulation as the instrument to help the classification of each types. The result of
this research found that there are 68 conjunctions found over all the abstract
Prremise Journal volume 9 Number 2. It consists of 14 coordinating conjunctions,
1 correlative conjunction and 53 subordinating conjunction. It can be seen that
the total percentage of subordinating conjunction is 78%, while coordinating
conjunction is 21% total percentage and the least conjunction used is correlative
conjunction with 1% total percentage. Based on the result, it can be concluded
that subordinating conjunction is dominantly used in abstract Premise Journal
with the total percentage 78%. It is because the abstracts have a lot of sentences
that connect each other by using conjunctions.The researcher suggests that the
next researcher develop this research especially in comprehending the aspect in
Premise Journal because it is important to understand the journal for a
researcher.
