Abstract :
This research titled "The Effect Of The Use Of Investigation Group Learning Model To The Student Problem Solving Skill Biology". This research aims to determine the effect of the use of investigation group learning model to the student problem solving skill that are measured include: identify problem, collec data, analyze problem, problem solving based on the data, choosing method of problem solving, and problem solving planning. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Surade with 78 students as research subject (40 students in the experiment class and 38 students in the control class). This research using Quasi Experiment method with Nonrandomized Control Group pretest-posttest research design. The instruments that are used are pretest and posttest in the form of a description of 12 essay questions, as for questionnaire to know the student response to learning process. The results showed that this Group Investigation model influences the achievement of student problem solving abilities. The result of t-test calculation data value of N-gain problem solving test is obtained Thitung (0.05) = 2.85> Ttabel (0.05) = 1.99. Because Thitung (0.05)> Ttabel (0.05). Then the N-gain difference showed significantly different result. The conclusion of this research note that the study of Investigation Group model has a significant influence on the student problem in the material of soil contamination This indicates that the Investigation Group study model can improve students' problem solving skills
