Abstract :
This study aims to determine the types of student errors, the factors causing students to make mistakes, and solutions to overcome student errors in solving mathematical problems in the subject of a two-variable linear equation system based on Solo Taxonomy. This study was conducted at SMP Plus Madinah Tunnajah in VIII grade. The research method used in this study is qualitative research with a case study research design. The subjects in this study were four students with the subject determination using purposive sampling technique. Technical data analysis in this stydy include: Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The technique of collecting data by tests and interviews then triangulated. The types of errors in this study are conceptual errors, procedural errors, and operating errors. The results of this study obtained data on the Prastructural level of 41,67%, unstructural level of 8,33%, multistructural level of 8,33%, relational level of 0%, and abstract extended level of 50%. Factors causing students to make mistakes are students who are careless and in a hurry to answer the questions, students do not know the mean of the problem, students do not know the steps to work, and students do not work the questions according to the appropriate procedures. The solution to overcome these errors are 1) At the time of learning the teacher ensures students really can understand the material taught. 2) Students must be more careful in solving problems. 3) Students must be given a varied questions more often so students get used to solving problems.
