Abstract :
This study aims to determine the increase in the ability to write persuasive texts of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 15 Kota Sukabumi using the Brainstorming method. The application of the Braintorming method is done so that students actively participate during the learning process by gathering as many ideas, opinions or ideas as possible without being judged to be right or wrong. This study used a pre-experimental quantitative method with t-test. The sample consisted of 38 students with one group pretest posttest design research design. The data obtained is the value of the results of the pretest and posttest through writing tests and observations. Also by looking for the values ?d and ?d2. The value of the pretest results obtained by students on average 55.52% can be said to be still lacking. However, after being given treatment, the Brainstorming method of the student's posttest results averaged 87.23%. Increased by 31.71%. Based on statistical tests, the value of tcount is 13.90 while the value of ttable is 2.042. Thus it can be said that tcount abel t table or hypothesis is accepted (H1), meaning that the Brainstorming method has an effect on the ability to write persuasive text in class VIII of SMP Negeri 15 Kota Sukabumi 2018/2019 academic year.
