Abstract :
This study aims to describe the application of the TPS model and the improvement of listening skills of students in high school Elementary Schools. The method used is Classroom Action Research with the research design model Kemmis and Mc Taggart consisting of planning, implementation and observation and reflection. Participants in this study were grade 5C students of Al-Azhar Islamic Elementary School 7, Sukabumi City consisting of 22 people, 8 men and 14 women. Data collection techniques use interviews, tests, observation of teacher performance and student learning activities, field notes, and documentation. The instruments of data collection used interview sheets, listening skills tests, teacher performance observation sheets and student learning activities, field notes and documentation. The data analysis technique uses descriptive quantitative techniques. The results of the first cycle teacher's performance obtained an average value of 70 with sufficient categories and cycle II obtained the average value of 86 with good categories, the acquisition of these values increased by 16 points. Student learning activities in the first cycle obtained an average value of 67 with sufficient categories and in the second cycle the average value obtained was 83, from the acquisition of these values there was an increase of 16 points. The pre cycle results obtained 36% completeness, then increased in the first cycle reached 59% completeness, while in the second cycle the test results showed completeness reached 84%. So that the increase that occurred from pre cycle to cycle I was 23% and from cycle I to cycle II it increased by 25%. The conclusion of this study was that students' listening skills improved through the TPS model.
