Abstract :
The application of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method in determining the theme of the thesis research proposal is a system created to provide recommendations on themes that are in accordance with the abilities of students based on predetermined criteria and alternatives so as to facilitate students in determining the proposed thesis research theme. As the results of 21 Informatics Engineering students at Muhammadiyah University in Sukabumi who filled out the questionnaire through google form, as many as 17 students had difficulty in determining the theme of their thesis research proposal. Steps taken in the use of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method are: decomposition (making hierarchy), comparative judgment (assessment of criteria and alternatives), synthesis of priority (determining priority) and logical consistency (logical consistency). In this study using 3 criteria, namely: academic value, interest and the theme of the Job Training assignment (KP). And using 6 alternatives, namely: multimedia, computer networks, cryptography, GIS (geographic information systems), information systems and expert systems. The conclusion of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method in determining the thesis research proposal theme is able to provide recommendations for research proposal themes that are in accordance with the ability of students.
