Abstract :
The title of this reserach is Rasa Takut Tokoh Solomon Reed Terhadap Dunia Luar Dalam Novel Highly Illogical Behaviour Karya John Corey Whaley. The objectives of this research are to determine the description and the causes of fear of the outside world (Agoraphobia) which experienced by Solomon Reed as the main character of Highly Illogical Behaviour Novel. In this research, the method used as research method is descriptive qualitative and the approach applied is psychological approach. The main theories are : the theory of character from Abrams (1995), theory of characteristics from Nurgiyantoro (2015), theory of fear from Strasner (1987), theory of Agoraphobia from Durand and Barlow (2003), and theory of the cause of Agoraphobia from Mowrer (1960). The result of this research shows the character Solomon Reed experienced Agoraphobia which described by his anxiety and panic attack condition. Meanwhile, the causes of his Agoraphobia are the avoidance of agoraphobic situations and panic disorders.
