Abstract :
This research is entitled?Metafora Pada Lagu Arctic Monkeys Dalam Album AM?. The purpose of the research is to explain about metaphor and associative meaning in the AM album of Arctic Monkeys. The method used is qualitative descriptive analysis with semantic approach. The Relevant theories are theories of metaphor and associative meaning according to Geoffrey Leech theory (1991). Based on the results of the study, there are four types of metaphor such as Concretive Metaphor, Animistic, Humanizing, and Synaesthetic which further explained the meaning. Then, there are five types of associative meanig which are connotative meaning, social, affective, reflected, and collotative meaning. Based on the result, there are associative meaning data analys much bigger than metaphor. Associative meaning has 29 data, meanwhile metaphor has 22 data.
