Abstract :
This study aims to describe the value of students 'character and know how the profile of students' character values based on gender and family environment. The research subjects used were junior high school students who were taken using purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted at even semester in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Cikembar 2017/2018. The instrument used in this study is using Attitude Scale, interview, and observation sheet. From the results of data analysis, the character value that stands out for all male and female students is the value of religious character with an average percentage of 78% (good category). The average percentage per indicator of character values in SMP Negeri 1 Cikembar for all students is 74% (good category). The highest percentage of the character values of male students is the value of religious character with a percentage of 79% (good category). While the character values of female students have the highest percentage of the value of religious character, responsibility, and discipline with an average percentage of 78% (good category). In this study gender does not affect the value of students' character. Profile of students' character values based on family environment can actually affect the character values of students. The average percentage in this aspect of 65% can be categorized as good enough.
