Abstract :
This research is motivated by the low skill of writing description of students in class IV-A in learning Indonesian, because the learning still not using media.The aim of this research is to describe the learning process with using audio-visual based media, and describe the results of improving the skills of writing a description on learning Indonesian. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with research design is using Hopkins model as much as 2 cycles. Data collection tools use tests, documentation and observation sheets and field notes. Participants in this study were students of class IV-A of 26 people consisting of 14 women and 12 men. The result of the research on the pretest of students get 19% classical completeness with the less good category or 3 people from 26 students, in the first cycle get the classical completeness 54% either increase with good category or 14 people from 26 students, then in cycle II there is an overall increase 100 % with very good category of 26 people. The conclusion of this research is that with use the audio-visual based media can increase the skills of writing description in class IV-A at SDN 01 Selabintana academic year 2017/2018.
