Abstract :
The furnace is a tool that has optimal performance in the process of making tofu which starts from soybeans to produce tofu that is ready to be marketed. However, in fact the furnace works from before the fire burns until the fire goes out, tofu-making ends long before the fire goes out by itself. Therefore, the use of furnaces is considered less effective. Making tofu using a steam boiler can increase energy efficiency if the capacity of production is increased, so as to prevent scale that occurs in the cooking tub. The purpose of the Techno-Economic research on tofu conducted in the Sleman area, Yogyakarta is to compare the fuel efficiency of making tofu using a furnace using a steam boiler. From the data research conducted, it was found that the ratio of fuel to the use of traditional furnaces is 1% greater than the use of steam boilers and the use of steam boilers is Rp. 85,000/100kg more profit than using a furnace.
