Abstract
Anxiety and fear in pregnant women are caused by the emergence of anxiety about themselves for fear of death, worry about their health, fear of being separated from their baby. Anxiety of pregnant women can lead to worsening of blood vessel spasm to increase blood pressure. Anxiety during pregnancy and childbirth can have a negative impact in the form of weakening the uterine muscles to inhibit fetal growth. One of the impacts that occur on the anxiety of pregnant women is low birth weight and even death. Anxiety can be reduced by art drawing therapy, art drawing therapy is an activity that uses drawing and color tools as a medium in order to express emotions. This study uses a quasi-experimental research design with a pre and post test approach without a control group design. The population in this study were pregnant women with their first child in Jati sub-district. The sample was taken using a total sampling technique. The number of samples is 31 respondents. The instrument to measure the anxiety pregnant women is the Hamilton Rating Scale (HARS). Art drawing therapy was carried out in 3 sessions and each session was held once for 60 minutes. Analysis of the data using the Wilcoxon test. The results of this study showed that there was an effect of giving art drawing therapy on the level of anxiety in pregnant women with their first child with a p value < 0.000 (p value < 0.05). In conclusion, there is an effect of art drawing therapy on the anxiety level of pregnant women with their first child
