Abstract :
Anemia is a nutritional problem that is often experienced by adolescents. The anemia rate in Sukoharjo in 2018 reached 51.36%. One of the factors that influence anemia in adolescent girls is the lack of knowledge about anemia. Posters are one of the media that can increase knowledge because they contain short messages with attractive and easy-to-remember designs. This study aimed to determine the effect of poster media on increasing knowledge of anemia in adolescent girls. This study used a quasi-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. Total sample were 66 students selected by proportional random sampling at SMAN 1 Kartasura. The test carried out was Kolmogorov Smirnoff followed by the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The median value of knowledge before and after being given education through poster media was 74 and 92, the difference in the increase in the median value was 18 points. The increase in knowledge in both categories before and after the provision of education was 50% and 89.4%, the difference in knowledge in the good category was 39.4%. The results of the analysis of differences in knowledge before and after giving education with the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test p-value = 0.000. There was an increase in knowledge from before and after giving poster media. Young women are expected to be more active in seeking information about anemia from various sources, one of which is anemia posters, and further researchers are expected to be able to develop posters about anemia more deeply in order to prevent anemia.
