Abstract :
Film The Platform depicts a vertical prison called ?Vertical Self Management Center? where they are fed through a platform that descends gradually from the upper floor to the lower floor. This study attempts to describe how this film can represent the ideological form of capitalism. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with constructivism paradigm. The data collection method is done through documentation by screenshotting several scenes in the film. Researchers will use non-probability sampling as a sampling technique, namely by selecting samples based on certain considerations. And using triangulation theory to validate the data. This study uses Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis technique by using three levels of signs, namely denotation, connotation and myth. The results of this study indicate that the factors that describe the ideology of capitalism can be seen through several sign elements such as character traits, place settings, and storylines presented. The findings in this film contain various signs that describe the characteristics of the ideology of capitalism such as the nature of individualism, the creation of class differences, and the emergence of class rebellion.
