Abstract :
Optimism is an individual view related to events. Fresh graduate is a term for new college graduates. Optimism in facing the future for fresh graduates is the confidence of new graduates in obtaining results that are considered good and have positive expectations when faced with difficulties in the future. This study aims to describe the optimism of fresh graduates of the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta in facing their future. This study uses a qualitative approach with the informants in this study totaling 6 fresh graduates from the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta with 5 female gender and 1 male gender, the age range of the 6 informants aged 21-22 years. The method of collecting data is semi-structured interviews with a guide in the form of a guide in data collection and using an interactive model stage technique. The results of the study show that fresh graduates have optimism in themselves, this is evidenced by the forms of optimism in themselves such as confidence in their plans in facing the future, an attitude that is not easy to stress and never give up when experiencing failure, and the ability to cope. problems when encountering obstacles. Fresh graduate optimism factors are social support, self-confidence, and self-esteem. This optimistic attitude has a positive impact on fresh graduates, namely they become more productive in carrying out their lives.
