Abstract :
Changes in land use occur due to the increasing number of residents which has an impact on land which is increasing every year. Grogol District is an area that is experiencing changes in land use, this happens because Grogol District is an urban area located in a strategic area and is traversed by the Wonogiri ? Solo road. Land use needs to be planned and arranged according to the characteristics and functions of the land so that it will create a space that is comfortable and productive. This study aims to analyze differences in land use change in Grogol District, Sukoharjo Regency, and analyze the main factors causing land use change in Grogol District, Sukoharjo Regency. The research method uses a survey method that uses samples in data collection to validate the interpretation results to be more accurate. The sampling method used is purposive sampling. Research analysis of land use change uses qualitative methods with GIS analysis, namely by using overlay techniques on land use maps in 2010 and 2020. The main factors that influence land use change use qualitative analysis methods by interviewing village heads. The results of the analysis of land use changes in Grogol District showed that there was a reduction in paddy fields of 361.17 ha, a reduction in dry land and plantations of 40.1 ha. Then there was an increase in the area of residential land by 211.51 ha, an increase in the area of trade industry by 140.73 ha, and an increase in the area of infrastructure land by 29.1 ha. Results The main factors that affect land use changes are the population with a percentage of 40%, the population in Grogol District is increasing year by year which results in population density so that the land in Grogol District is decreasing because if there is population density, population needs will increase, such as requiring land for residence, place of business, as well as increasing infrastructure facilities.
