Abstract :
Social media that provide visual an audiovisual information include YouTube and Instagram. One of the uses of YouTube and Instagram to present information about culture and tourism is the Kraton Jogja. Kraton Jogja's social media is managed by Tepas Tandha Yekti. This study aimed to find out how the utilization of Youtube and Instagram by Kraton Jogja in cultural preservation and tourism promotion as well as to find out the form of information delivery and also what content is conveyed in it. This research was a type of qualitative research that uses a case study method. In collecting the information used two types of data, namely primary data and secondary data. The results showed that Kraton Jogja utilized YouTube and Instagram to present visual and audio-visual content. In utilizing social media, Kraton Jogja always uses existing features to present content, where the content is related to culture and tourism. Information about culture and tourism that was uploaded later can attract tourists to visit and learn about the culture at the Kraton Jogja even though it was carried out with implied promotions. The form of tourism promotion on Instagram and YouTube was indeed carried out indirectly, but it can attract tourists to visit and learn about the culture at the KeratonYogyakarta.
