Abstract :
Background: Toddler age is a child aged (12-36 months) or can be called the golden age where brain cell growth is fast in a short time and is sensitive to stimulation so that if it experiences obstacles it will have an influence on the growth and development of the next child. The use of diapers in children can cause different problems, including the accompanying impulsiveness of diapers, skin damage or irritation. Children who are used to wearing diapers from infants to small children, will face some differences from other children, such as children having difficulty controlling urination and defecation, the child does not tell the guardian when to urinate or defecate. big, children are lazy to go to the toilet, even mentally stubborn children in general. Objective: To analyze or describe the relationship between mother's knowledge about toilet training and the habit of using diapers in toddlers. Methods: This research is a descriptive correlative research with a cross sectional approach. The research sample was children aged 1-3 years in the working area of Polanharjo Public Health Center as many as 91 mothers of toddlers using proportional random sampling technique. Collecting data using a questionnaire which was analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: the results of the chi-square test got a p-value of 0.000 < 0.005. Conclusion: There is a relationship between mother's knowledge about toilet training and the habit of using diapers in toddlers in the working area of Polanharjo Health Center.
