Abstract :
This study aims to analyze the effect of regional gross domestic product, inflation, education index, and open unemployment on poverty in West Java province in 2017-2019. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Department of Manpower and Transmigration. The analysis model used is panel data regression. The results of the model selection test prove that the fixed effect model (FEM) was chosen as the best model. The results of the t-test analysis show that gross domestic product, inflation, the education index have a negative effect on poverty, while open unemployment has no effect on poverty. The results of the F test prove that the fixed effect model approach exists. For the regional government of West Java, it is again promoting the literacy eradication program, providing financial assistance for the poor, for example by providing assistance funds for the establishment of schools in the regions, so that education can be evenly distributed throughout the region in order to reduce poverty in all districts/cities in the region. Jawa Baat, as well as improving the quality of education by developing a better school curriculum. In addition, the West Java provincial government is able to control the prices of goods with the aim of achieving economic stability. With this economic stability, it will have an impact on economic sectors, especially the real sector and the industrial sector because it can increase productivity so that it will open up new jobs and poverty will decrease.
