Abstract :
This study aims to analyze the effect of financial performance and corporate governance on financial distress performance in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2020. The method of study used is a quantitative approach, with a research sample of 27 manufacturing companies in 2016-2020 collected through the Purposive Sampling method. The data collection method is by conducting a literature study through the Indonesia Stock Exchange website. Based on the findings of data processing performed with the E Views version 10 application, the following conclusions were obtained: Profitability has a positive and significant effect on financial distress, Liquidity has a negative and significant effect on financial distress, Leverage has a negative and significant effect on financial distress, and Managerial ownership has no significant effect on financial distress. Simultaneously the five independent variables affect the dependent variable.
